Join us for two chilling tales after dark from the infamous private collection at Weeping Bank Library - researched meticulously, written obsessively and read mercilessly by the keeper of those dark tomes - The Librarian of Weeping Bank himself.

In Weeping Bank, they say The Librarian writes by moonlight and locks away his stories at dawn. But every now and then, by candlelight and under the watchful glow of a single brass lamp, he reads one or two of his chilling tales to rapt audiences across the country.

This is storytelling as it once was - eerie, immersive and dangerously close.

ABOUT WEEPING BANK

'a masterclass in the art of the modern ghost story' Bronte Schiltz, writer/journalist

'flawlessly delivered with thespian-level gravitas.... The overall production put me in mind of something I may have seen on the BBC in times past' Emma Dark, award-winning filmmaker and actress, columnist for We Belong Dead magazine.

'I came, I saw, I jumped out of my seat... so atmospheric and performed so brilliantly. ... You've created something rather wonderful and enduring with that world, very impressive' Robin Jarvis, bestselling author

'The quality of your writing of ghost stories is superb. I have found that very few horror stories have the genuine ability to chill, but both your tales were suitably unnerving and sublimely told’ Nick Brunger, award-winning magician & storyteller

A WORD OF CAUTION: The Librarian’s readings contain moments of considerable unease and are deemed unsuitable for children and the faint of heart.

Great Musical accompaniment to eerie Silent films. Stephen Horne played various instruments perfectly to accompany the films. He really is a talented performer and set the mood well. The presenter Bryony Dixon introduced the films well but either the sound was too low or her voice is too soft, I couldn't really hear all of what she was saying sadly. Otherwise a great spooky evenings entertainment.

We should have been informed about the lack of toilets when booking the event, as I have a hidden disability. Also could be told to bring a cushion for the pews as very uncomfortable. No tour of the crypt offered, but this was stated on the blurb of the month of the dead website.
